1. Do your research beforehand

Not every beach welcomes dogs – some only allow four-legged friends at certain times or in designated areas. It’s best to check online or with the local council in advance to avoid any unpleasant surprises.

2. Safety first

Your dog should be well-trained and responsive to your commands, especially near the water or in unfamiliar surroundings. Always pack a leash, as not everyone at the beach may be comfortable with animals nearby. Being considerate of others is essential.

3. Sun protection & water

Dogs can get sunburned too, especially on their noses, ears, or if they have short fur. Protect your furry friend with dog-specific sunscreen and provide a shady spot. Fresh water is a must – seawater makes them thirsty and is not suitable for drinking.

4. Action & fun

Whether it’s a frisbee, a ball, or water toys – the main thing is to be active together! Splashing around, digging in the sand, or taking a walk along the coast will make the day perfect and strengthen your bond.

5. Be considerate & keep it clean

Obviously, dog waste belongs in a bag, and all trash should be taken home. Traveling with a dog means taking responsibility – for the environment, for others, and for maintaining a friendly atmosphere at the beach.

With a little planning and consideration, your beach day will be a real highlight – for you, your dog, and everyone else by the sea. Have fun splashing around!
